The requirement

What F881 asks for

Under F881 (42 CFR 483.80(a)(3)), a facility must have an antibiotic stewardship program that includes antibiotic use protocols and a system to monitor antibiotic use. Surveyors review it as part of infection prevention and control.

CMS requires every nursing home to run an antibiotic stewardship program, reviewed in the standard survey.
